Fuel-Sipping SUVs…is that an oxymoron?

I was on a business trip to Denver last week, and was at a rental car company counter, and overheard many, many renters asking for “smaller cars so gas isn’t so bad….”. Although the rental car company I used had lots of big SUVs for rent (that’s natural in Denver…many people go there with lots and lots of baggage!) I still sensed demand for “fuel efficient” SUVs.

Is that an oxymoron?
