Nobody is immune to tribulations in car building!
See below for an interesting link to an article about BMW. Seems that even efficiently run, very “focused” auto manufacturers are after higher and higher returns these days. I would opine that BMW hasn’t run all over the place trying to be all things to all people when it comes to the number of platforms they build, but even they, with their focus, have decided there’s too many folks making a living at their place.
